HILL & FIFTH — PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 12 October 2026
ABOUT US
Hill & Fifth is an Australian company. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, register your interest or contact us.
Our website currently allows you to register interest in Hill & Fifth and receive email updates. We are not accepting orders or collecting customer payment details at this stage.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you register your interest, we collect your email address, subscription and consent records, and any product preferences you choose to provide. We do not require your name, postal address or payment details to register.
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
Our Shopify website may also collect technical information such as your IP address, approximate location, browser and device details, pages visited, referring links and cookie identifiers. Where enabled, Shopify’s email tools may record interactions with our emails, such as opens and clicks. This information helps us understand interest in the brand and how the website and emails perform.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to manage registrations, send the Hill & Fifth updates you subscribed to receive, understand product interest, respond to enquiries, operate and improve our website, maintain security and meet legal obligations.
Joining our list is not a purchase and does not require you to buy anything. You can generally browse without providing your name or email address, although technical information may still be collected.
EMAIL UPDATES
We send marketing emails when you have subscribed or otherwise provided the permission required by law. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our marketing emails or by contacting us. We will action unsubscribe requests within five business days, or sooner where required by law.
We may retain a limited record of your unsubscribe request so we can honour your choice. Unsubscribing does not prevent us from responding to an enquiry you send us.
SHOPIFY AND INFORMATION SHARING
We use Shopify to host our website and Shopify’s tools, including Shopify Forms, to collect and manage registrations and send emails. Shopify and its service providers process information to deliver these services. Depending on the features and privacy settings enabled, Shopify may also process information independently for purposes described in its own privacy notices, including security, analytics and personalised services.
You can read Shopify’s privacy notices at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy and find information about its service providers at https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/privacy-and-security/privacy/subprocessors.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where reasonably necessary or required by law. If our business changes ownership, relevant information may transfer subject to applicable legal requirements and appropriate safeguards.
COOKIES AND ONLINE TRACKING
Shopify uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, maintain security and support relevant features. Depending on the settings enabled, these technologies may also measure website activity or support personalisation and advertising. Shopify and its service providers may collect information about activity over time and across websites where their technologies are used, as explained in Shopify’s privacy notices.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any cookie or privacy controls displayed on our website. Disabling some cookies may affect website functionality. Unsubscribing from emails does not automatically change cookie settings.
Our website does not change its data collection solely in response to the older browser “Do Not Track” signal. This is separate from cookie choices and legally recognised opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, which we will honour where applicable law requires.
OVERSEAS PROCESSING
We operate from Australia, but Shopify and its service providers may store or process information overseas, including Canada, the United States and other countries listed in Shopify’s service-provider information. Overseas privacy laws may differ from those in your country. We take the steps required by applicable law when disclosing information overseas.
SECURITY AND RETENTION
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle, including limiting access to those who need it and using appropriate account security. No online system is completely secure.
We retain subscriber information while needed to manage your subscription and the purposes described here. We review information collected during this interest-registration stage and delete or de-identify it when no longer needed, except where limited retention is necessary for legal obligations, enquiries, security or recording your privacy choices.
YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS
You can contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information, or to raise a privacy concern. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law or otherwise within a reasonable time, and explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfil a request.
Depending on applicable law, you may have additional privacy rights. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising them.
Please contact us first about a concern so we can investigate. We aim to respond substantively within 30 days. You may also contact the relevant privacy regulator where available under applicable law, including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au.
CHILDREN
Our website and marketing are intended for adults. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
POLICY CHANGES
We may update this policy as our website or practices change. We will publish the updated version here with its date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. Changes do not, by themselves, authorise a new use of previously collected information.
